Join CBEAR for all or part of the day to learn how USDA is developing evidence-based agri-environmental programs. We’ll be looking at the uses of randomized controlled program trials and systematic reviews of the evidence base, as well as the implications for USDA of President Obama’s September 2015 Executive Order on the use of behavioral insights to improve federal programs.
Congratulations, Chief Weller!
Join us as we recognize Jason Weller, Chief of NRCS, as the winner of the 2016 CBEAR Prize for Agri-Environmental Innovation in our morning session.
Steve Henn – Lunchtime Speaker
During lunch, Steve Henn (previously a correspondent with NPR Planet Money and Marketplace) will talk about the success of experimental testing in the private sector and the implications for USDA programs.
After lunch, CBEAR leaders will collaborate with workshop attendees in an in-depth, hands-on workshop about conducting randomized controlled trials in USDA programs, and how to commission and use systematic reviews of the evidence base to guide program design and implementation. The emphasis will be on helping you develop evidence-based solutions to the challenges facing your programs.
