Social and Behavioral Sciences TeamIn conjunction with President Obama’s recent executive order encouraging the use of behavioral sciences to inform government programs, the White House announced the Social and Behavioral Sciences Team will assist with this push. Lead by Dr. Maya Shankar, this team will help government agencies test their programs and make sure that their programs are designed to be as successful as possible.

Following a successful first year, the Social and Behavioral Sciences Team has launched over a dozen experiments across the federal government, with their successes documented in their Annual Report. While many of their findings produce small changes, combined, they are finding that there are a number of low or no cost changes which can result in increased government revenue, increased program sign ups, and other results that are generally favored.
